UFV defeats UBC-O, 71-36, in preseason game at Envision Athletic Centre

The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s basketball team defeated the UBC-O Heat, 71-36, in preseason exhibition basketball at the Envision Athletic Centre.

The Cascades led from opening whistle to closing establishing a quick double digit lead in the first quarter. UFV continued to play well at both ends of the court holding their brand new Canada West opponent to under 10 points in three of the four quarters.

Courtney Bartel, Chilliwack, BC led all Cascades players with 19 points. Tessa Klassen, Winnipeg, Manitoba added 11 points and Sarah Wierks, Chilliwack, BC added 10m points in the victory. Sarah Wierks led the Cascades with 8 total rebounds.
