Bio

Currently in his ninth year as a Canadian University coach Barnaby Craddock has seen success follow him through a wide variety of coaching positions across Canada and Internationally.

In four seasons as the head Coach of the UFV Cascades Men's Basketball program Coach Craddock has guided the program to three playoff appearances, and a historic rise to the top tiers of Canadian university men's basketball programs.  The most recent 2010-11 season saw the Cascades finish the year in 7th place out of 14 teams, and qualified for the playoffs for the 3rd time in four years. 

During the previous season (2009-10) the then young and upcoming Cascades started to put their mark on the Canada West Conference, as they qualified for the playoffs for the second time in three years, finishing 5th out of 14 teams (11-7).

Prior to joining the Cascades, Craddock spent two years as the Head Coach at Brandon University. In 2006-07, he led the Bobcats to the CIS National Championship tournament where Brandon earned a silver medal, losing by three points (52-49) in a hard-fought National Championship final.

One of the youngest coaches to receive national coach of the year honours, Craddock was named Canadian University Coach of the Year by the CIS in 2006-07. He was also recognized by Canada West as Coach of the Year after leading the Bobcats to a conference-best 20-2 record.

Coach Craddock's success is not just limited to the university ranks.  This past year of 2011 Craddock was the Assistant coach with Canada Basketball's Development team, which won a Silver medal at the World FISU games In Shenzhen, China.

Prior to his role with the Canadian national program coach Craddock was the head coach on multiple provincial teams throughout Canada; Most recently leading the British Columbia U17 boys' team to a Bronze medal in 2010.

Craddock's coaching career began while he was playing professionally in Europe. His resume includes head, assistant and player-coach positions with men's and women's senior and developmental teams in several European countries.

As a player Craddock spent seven years playing professionally in Europe, earning playoff MVP honours in Norway (2001) and Ireland (2002). A two-time Canada West All-Star (1995-96, 1996-97) and CIS All-Canadian at the University of Lethbridge (1996-97), his playing career also included stops in Germany, Portugal, France, Holland, Spain and Iceland.

After his time in Europe, Craddock returned to Canada and began his CIS coaching career as an assistant at the University of Lethbridge and the University of Winnipeg. During this time, Craddock earned his NCCP Level III certification and was the head coach of two provincial development teams in Alberta and Manitoba.

A Vancouver native, Craddock holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge and is completing his NCCP Level IV certification and NCI Coaching diploma.
