Baker House Residents
Important card information to know: once you arrive at Baker House you will receive a temporary move-in card which is valid during the move-in period only. As soon as you move into Residence go directly to the Campus Card office. Baker House residents receive two cards; a UFV Campus Card, and a Resident Card. Before you go, make sure you bring;
- your student number
- a valid government issued ID such as a driver’s license, or passport
- your temporary move-in card (replacement fees for lost temporary move-in cards are payable to Resident Services and cost $25.00 each)

Library card
Building access card
Student Activity Centre membership card
Validation for the Student Union Society U-PASS program
Laundry card *mandatory to operate machines* use the Cascade fund
Meal plan *optional service* use the Dining fund
Bookstore purchase card *optional service* use the Cascade fund
Convenience store purchase card *optional service* use the Cascade fund
General foodservices purchase card *optional service* use the Cascade fund

*To activate the Cascade fund, monies can be added onto the card at the
Campus Card office, or the Bookstore cashier counter* | Resident Card is used for;
Residence ID Signing out materials at the Residence Front Desk Printing/ photocopying card monies can be added at the Campus Card office, the library card station, by the photocopiers, or the Bookstore cashier counter
Cascade Funds Cascade funds operate as a declining balance fund, and can be used at any participating retailer on campus. Cascade funds are valid until used. Admin fees apply to accounts with no activity for six consecutive months.
Participating retailers include;
- UFV Bookstore
- Le Press (convenience store located next to Residence in the Bookstore)
- Cascade cafeteria
- Clikz (Tim Horton’s)
- Trades & Technology Centre, Rivers cafeteria
- Chilliwack cafeteria
- Aftermath on Campus (may not be used to purchase alcohol)

Laundry – residents have access to the laundry rooms which are equipped with washers, dryers, sinks, irons, and ironing boards. Residents must load their card with Cascade funds to access the laundry machines. Each transaction costs $1.25 per wash and $1.25 per dry cycle.

Lost or Stolen Campus Cards:
If your card(s) are lost, or stolen, notify Residence Services 604.557.4063, the Campus Card office 604.851.6363, or Campus Security 1.855.239.7654 immediately. Print and photocopying monies (on the chip) cannot be replaced. You are responsible for all transactions until your UFV Campus Card is reported missing: a $10.00 replacement fee applies (prices subject to change). |
