This course is for professional rescuers (i.e. police, fi refi ghters, fi rst responders, workplace fi rst aid teams, and lifeguards). It includes the 2005 First Aid and CPR guidelines. Skills taught and practised in this course include one- and two-person rescuer, adult/child/infant CPR, and introduction to automated external defi brillation (AED). Three year expiry.

Child Care Emergency First Aid
Formerly Childsafe First Aid. This course is for parents with children up to 8 years of age and includes the 2005 First Aid and CPR B guidelines. This course stresses emergency fi rst aid procedures, recognition of home hazards, allergies, bleeding management, and child/infant CPR. Recognized by the BC Provincial Childcare Facilities Licensing Board. Three-year expiry.

Red Cross Standard First Aid
This course is designed to provide comprehensive fi rst aid training and includes the 2005 First Aid and CPR guidelines. You will learn about emergency first aid, plus injuries involving the musculoskeletal system, head and neck injuries, sudden medical conditions, soft tissue injuries, poisons, and automated external defibrillation (AED).
Includes CPR C certification. Three-year expiry. The content of this course meets the licensing requirements for care aid workers in the province of British Columbia, and is equivalent to St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED.

WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Courses
Occupational First Aid Level I
A one-day program designed to provide life-saving fi rst aid skills to workers in industry. The day will cover the ABCs of basic fi rst aid, blocked airways, one-person CPR, and lifts and transport of the injured. Manuals given out in class. Participants must be at least 16 years old. Three-year expiry.
