The Alexander Technique
Reduce stress and relieve pain with the Alexander Technique. We all have unconscious movement habits. In our daily activities, we put undue pressure on our bodies. We use more force and muscle tension than needed to lift a coff ee pot, brush our teeth, or work at the computer. Harmful habits often lead to discomfort, exhaustion, or even physical complaints such as neck and shoulder pain, chronic back pain, tennis elbow or tendonitis. The Alexander Technique teaches you how to develop body awareness and avoid harmful movement patterns. You learn to move with greater ease and more balance in your body, to relieve muscle tension and reduce stress and pain. Please wear casual clothing and bring a blanket and four paperback books with you to class.
