Advanced Soapmaking — New
In this class, we will build on the experience gained in Introduction to Soapmaking. You will make two soaps from scratch, beginning with a whitened base soap that, when cut, will have colourful chunks in it that you have created and designed. You will learn the technique of colour swirling in the next batch you make. Advanced Soapmaking offers the opportunity to create soaps that are unique, custom, and attractive while using colour, botanicals, and scent. In this class, we will make a chunk soap and a swirl soap. A supply fee of $20 is payable to your instructor on the night of class.

Buddhist Philosophy & Vipassana Meditation — New
Learn the main doctrines common to all forms of Buddhism, such as mindfulness, meditation, karma and the round of rebirth, ethics, reducing stress and anger, and creating happiness. We will also examine Buddhist social teaching. Expect some fun, too! This class includes short periods of meditation.

Instructor: Brian Ruhe was a monk in Thailand and is the author of Freeing the Buddha. He has been teaching Buddhism and meditation for 13 years and trains in the Theravada Forest tradition. Brian has taught thousands of people at temples and colleges, and currently teaches at four school boards and five community centres. Brian says, “Meditation means directing the mind!”
Aromatherapy — an Introduction
An interactive and fun program for the budding aromatherapist. This course is informative, hands-on, enjoyable, and creative. Keep your family free of chemical products. Smell and experiment with more than 50 essential oils. Learn about top, middle, and base notes, application techniques, common uses, history, production methods, safety, and cooking. Create your own blends for therapeutic benefits and for fragrances, baths, sprays, roll-ons, fragrant creams, and diffusing. Take home each week two or three mini-blends that you have created. A supply fee of $55 is payable to your instructor on the first night of class. This class is taught by Catherine Love, a qualified registered aromatherapist and essential oil therapist.

In this class, you will use the best of nature to reveal a more radiant complexion! If your skin is sensitive or allergic, this face care class is for you! You will make a daily foaming face cleanser from cratch with lavender, rose, or neroli hydrosois. Instructor: Jessica Smith graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology. She then went onto receive a Registered Holistic Nutritionist Diploma from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. She works in the natural health industry and has a passion for holistic health and wellness.
