Woodworking Introduction
The ideal course for those who want to get started on woodworking! Learn the safe use of a table saw, and a variety of portable power tools. While working on a blanket box you will learn to identify common woods and plywood, select and use different joints, identify simple cabinet components, use common glues, and install appropriate hardware. Material costs for the blanket box are included in the course fee.

Woodworking II — NEW
This course is comprehensive and covers subjects such as how to correctly select and prepare lumber for use, woodworking joints, and applying finishes to projects. While working on a wine storage rack you will use high-quality woodworking tools, both hand and power
type, to shape and assemble the project. Material costs for a wine storage rack that will hold 13 bottles of wine and 12 wine glasses are included in the course fee.

Wood Profile Moulder Training — NEW

This course provides industry-based training on a wood profile moulder machine for those currently in the manufacturing or valueadded wood products industry. This course will focus on the basic tool set-up, knife grinding and related topics such as cutterheads, template making, profile grinding techniques, and moulder set-up using axial constant techniques.

Woodworking Tool Safety

This is a fun, interactive course where you will discover the attributes of power tools used in home repair and construction. During the interactive class time you will learn to identify the parts and functions of each tool, and to identify and choose the right bits and blades to perform the associated tasks safely. Tools used include portable circular saw, compound mitre saw, cordless drill, belt sander and table saw. You will have the opportunity to practise with these
tools and work on a small project.
