Jewellery Silversmithing — Beginner
This introductory class is designed for those who would like to make jewellery for themselves or as gifts. You will create two or three different pieces of sterling silver jewellery using the basic techniques of sawing, fi ling, soldering, and basic stone setting. A basic tool kit is required, available from the instructor at first class for approximately $85 (cash only please). Sterling silver and gemstones are available from instructor once the basic tool kit is purchased. Estimated cost of the fi rst project is $25. If you already have a gemstone you wish to use, bring it to class to have its suitability determined. No previous experience or art background is necessary. Wear casual clothes. Supply list at registration.

Jewellery Silversmithing — Advanced
This is a continuation of our beginner’s jewellery-making class and will focus on more advanced techniques. While working on diff erent projects, you will learn hinges, clasps, simple claw settings, surface treatments, advanced chain making and more. An understanding of basic fabrication techniques is required.
