UFV campus security officers in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission will be equipped with special two-way radios that enable them to communicate directly with the operations centre.  Pagers are also being provided as a back-up means of communications.

Mission Statement:

The Safety and Security Department is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all those who enter our premises.  We will continuously strive to be firm, honest, and fair in our pursuit to safeguard life, property, and information at the University of the Fraser Valley.

Campus Security provides numerous services to the UFV community:

» Monitor building access and respond to access alarms
» Respond to emergencies
» Complaint investigation
» Traffic regulation enforcement
» SafeWalk escorts
» Information resource - campus maps, directions, etc.
» Provide Occupational First Aid
» Maintain lost and found property
» Respond to inquiries

Investigations & Incident Reporting:

Campus security is available to respond to incidents and complaints. These may include, but are not limited to: parking, fire, traffic, noise, lost and found, and theft. The security department maintains a working relationship with local police agencies in the Fraser Valley to facilitate resolution of any matter that comes to our attention. A comprehensive reporting system is also in place to ensure that all incidents and complaints are dealt with in an expeditious manner.

All incidents occurring any time on campus must be documented and forwarded to Security Services for follow-up within 24 hours if possible.
