  • Unique research focus – Our Associates come from various scientific and professional disciplines allowing for a unique combination of research in our core areas: good governance and the rule of law, children and development, education and environmental sustainability.
  • A human rights based approach – The Institute is committed to reaffirming people’s rights to development, and to promoting human rights in all GDI initiatives.

This includes an active role for the Institute as a practical extension of Global Development studies, providing the means for students to gain international and local development experience while integrating development practice and theory.
