Soccer teams hold their own in second weekend of play with split decisions
It was one win and one loss for the Cascade women this weekend as they dropped a 2-1 game to Manitoba, then blasted by Regina by a 7-3 score, including five goals in 10 minutes in the second half. The seven-goal total was a record for the Cascades in CIS play. They are now 2-1-1 in CIS play.
The men’s soccer Cascades knocked off the second nationally ranked team in two weeks with a 2-0 decision over the UVic Vikes. Cascades striker Spencer Schmidt scored both goals in a steady rain. The Cascades weren’t so fortunate the previous day, when they dropped a 5-0 decision to UBC. They are now 2-2 in CIS play.
