It’s not too late to sign up for the Living with Your Flexible, Feisty or Fearful Toddler workshop that takes place Mon, Sept. 24.

This process is confusing and frustrating for the child (and often for the parents). This workshop will review the emotional and psychological process of this initial separation from mom and dad and give parents some ideas on how to facilitate the child’s self-discovery in a positive way.

Driver safety and advanced driving techniques workshop
- Do you want to greatly decrease your chances of being involved in or — heaven forbid — causing a collision?
- Are you interested in learning more about how to control your car in wet and snowy conditions?
- Do you really understand the safety features of your vehicle?
- Do you even know how to set your mirrors?
The vast majority of drivers never take a driver education course after they attain their license. Statistics indicate that 80 percent of drivers consider themselves as “better than average” which, of course can’t be true. The Fraser Valley is a high-accident region and, sadly, many of these are fatal.
Knowing the rules of the road is important and will help prevent traffic tickets, but understanding car control is not taught in driving schools and is of utmost importance in emergency situations. Operating a motor vehicle is the highest risk activity that we regularly undertake and few appreciate or understand those risks.
Join motoring enthusiast and race school graduate, Dave Harper, of the Kinesiology department who will share the knowledge and experience of his many advanced driving and racing courses. Learn many simple principles and techniques that will greatly improve your driving ability.
This is intended for all drivers, regardless of experience.
Tues, Oct 30
noon to 1:30 pm
D204, Abby
To register, please contact Tara Rozenek at tara.rozenek@ucfv.ca or local 4536.
