News
New academic calendar online
You may have noticed that the 2011/12 online academic calendar has now replaced the 2010/11 version at www.ucfv.ca/calendar. This is UFV’s official calendar and will soon be followed up with a print version. The draft 2012/13 online calendar will also be available shortly. Please check your department websites to ensure that all links to the calendar are working properly. If you have any links that are still pointing to the 2010/11 calendar, please contact Amanda Grimson for a redirect link that will not need to be updated every year. This is also a good opportunity to review your pages to eliminate any out-of-date material that may confuse students.

Instructors should obtain their class lists and wait lists for Summer 2011 via the Faculty Services tab in myUFV.
Print your lists just prior to the first class of the semester so that they will be as up-to-date as possible. (Email notifications will be sent to instructors if there are any additions to class lists and wait lists over the last few days prior to the start of classes.)
Instructors should also read the Summer 2011 Start of Term Practices document. Enter permissions through myUFV or print Permission to Register, and Notice of Withdrawal forms from the Faculty Services tab in myUFV.

The PD day will run from 9 am until 4:30 pm on the Abbotsford campus. The theme of this conference is the intersections of research and teaching at the University of the Fraser Valley. As members of a teaching intensive university, instructional and non-instructional faculty, staff and students are often engaged in teaching activities that are propelled by research and/or engaged in research activities that have arisen from teaching experience or inform teaching experience. Questions abound as to how we integrate our multi-faceted responsibilities as educators and researchers.
Who should attend? This conference will be of particular interest to UFV sessional and “regular” faculty, staff, and administrators, and undergraduate and graduate students interested in research and teaching in higher education. Guests from other institutions may be invited, if space permits
Types of presentations
- Plenary sessions
- Student and faculty panels
- Concurrent sessions and workshops (50 minutes each)
What will I get out of it? There will be practical ideas, tools and personal experiences in integrating teaching and research.
How do I sign up? Please visit http://www.ufv.ca/Research/Research_News_and_Events/pdday.htm.
From there you will find conference information and the online registration form.
