Eye in India photo exhibit launch at UCFV
UCFV sociologist Colin Ridgewell will be sharing his take on India through a photographic display on the Abbotsford campus starting next week, and the public is invited to the opening reception.
The Social, Cultural and Media Studies (SCMS) department is sponsoring the exhibit in partnership with the Research and Industry Liaison office. The exhibition, entitled The Eye in India: a Personal Perspective, will be placed in the UCFV Abbotsford campus library and the corridor of Building G, the Peter Jones Learning Centre.
The photographs were taken by SCMS instructor Colin Ridgewell during a three-month visit in Fall 2005. Although many of the images can be used to provide sociological and anthropological insights, the show primarily offers a personal record of one person’s experience of being in India.
The exhibition opens on Tuesday, March 6. The Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies and Research is hosting an opening reception and buffet at 5:30 pm on that day.
All are welcome to attend.
