Fraser Valley Regional Heritage Fair at UFV this Thurs, Fri
History will be in the air at UFV this week as up to 120 students from Grades 4 to 9 will be presenting their Canadian history projects in UFV’s Student Activity Centre (gym) on the Abbotsford campus on Thurs, April 29, and Fri, April 30.
The fair will be open to the public on Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 pm and on Friday from 9 am to 2 pm. The Regional Heritage Fair is organized by the MSA Museum Society and is part of a national initiative to encourage youth to celebrate Canada’s history and heritage.
Please plan to attend this exciting event, and visit the BC Heritage Fair site: http://www.bcheritagefairs.ca
UFV historian Molly Ungar has been working with the MSA Museum Society to support the fair, and has recruited many UFV students and employees to act as volunteers and judges.
The UFV students lead special activities such as scavenger hunts and craft tables.
“The university is quite supportive of the event,” says Ungar. “Each participant goes home with a backpack and there is a lot of participation from different departments.”
