Health Sciences students present health fair at Cottonwood Mall
Get ready to find out more about how to stay healthy, from teeth to toes, at a health fair presented by University of the Fraser Valley students on Friday, March 5. Students from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Certified Dental Assistant, and Dental Hygiene programs have been hard at work on informative displays that they’ll be on hand to share at the Cottonwood Mall in Chilliwack.
Some of the topics covered by the displays include the effect of soft drinks on teeth, “meth mouth” (damage inflicted by methamphetamine use), hypertension, diabetes, prevention of falls, oral self-care for babies, smoking cessation, bowel health, tooth sensitivity, tooth whitening, risk factors for dental decay, and how oral health affects overall health.
The health fair will run all day from 9:30 am to 9 pm in the mall.
Students will be available to answer questions and provide information to the public.
