Global Spectrum creates award for students in own backyard
The people at Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre (AESC), which is managed by Global Spectrum, are literally supporting learning in their own backyard, thanks to the student bursary they’ve created for UFV students in financial need.
“Now, more than ever, we need student awards to encourage and support students in obtaining their education,” says acting director of development Ryan Koch. “For this reason, we can’t thank Global Spectrum enough for recognizing this dire need. Their gift truly shows the community that they believe in the importance of education and the many doors that open for our graduates because of their experience at UFV.” Their $1,020 donation will support financially disadvantaged students enrolled in UFV’s athletics program or the hospitality event planning certificate.
“On behalf of Global Spectrum and the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre, I’m so glad we were able to promote education literally in our own backyard,” says Michaella Petrik, director of marketing at AESC. “UFV students are some of our biggest supporters and we hope this award can be a token of our appreciation for the special relationship we will continue to have with UFV.”
