
CIS 224 - Wireless lans in the enterprise
Prerequisite(s): cis 192, or CIS 193 and CIS 194
Calendar Description: This course focuses on the design, planning, implementation, operation and troubleshooting of Wireless LAN technologies including 802.11a/b/g, Wireless LAN security, radio technologies and applications. Hands-on labs will be completed in the configuration of access points and bridges, antenna placement and site surveys. This course includes the Cisco Fundamentals of Wireless LANs learning objectives.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
• Conduct wireless site surveys • Interpret IEEE 802.11 wireless standards • Implement wireless radio topologies • Install and configure wireless access points, bridges, adapters, and antennae • Use management tools to design, install, configure, monitor and maintain wireless devices • Identify wireless security threats and vulnerabilities • Implement MAC layer wireless security using WEP, EAP and 802.1x protocols • Configure monitoring systems including Syslog and SNMP • Apply vertical and horizontal wireless implementations • Troubleshoot wireless LAN systems • Apply applicable safety procedures and practices
