Student Life Mission Statement
To build, for and with UFV students, a vibrant co-curricular program that actively engages students in the UFV community and provides opportunities for each student to develop relationships with others, a healthy lifestyle, leadership skills, active citizenship and a lifelong commitment to intellectual and spiritual growth.
The Student Life Department focuses on providing out of class programming, activities and services that will provide opportunities for students to develop the skills and competencies through which to change, grow and develop.
Programming Objectives:
· Help create institutional vitality and engagement
· Foster the well-being of students
· Nurture student potential
· Provide a safe environment for students to encounter, confront, question, examine, analyze, challenge, criticize, reflect, differentiate and evaluate
· Increase student participation and involvement within the UFV community
· Help to develop an educationally diverse culture that instills tolerance, respect and intentionality, which will enhance the probability of student success and commitment to a broad range of educational and lifelong ambitions
With main offices located on the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses, the Student Life Department assists with the event planning, promotion and fund-raising for campus student organizations.
