| ADULT EDUCATION DEPARTMENT |
| PROGRAM |
|
This degree program is a mid-career development program for people who have established a field of practice as an adult educator. The key admission requirement for this degree program is three years of direct experience as an adult educator prior to admission. The program itself is equivalent to other four-year degree programs, although the actual length of time to completion for any given student will depend upon the particular circumstances of each student, influenced by factors such as credit for prior learning and the numbers of courses taken per term. Most program participants study on a part-time basis, taking less than three courses per term. The program and schedule of course offerings is designed to meet this common pattern of attendance.
The BA (Adult Education) program requires completion of 120 credits with a minimum grade point average of 2.0. A minimum of 30 credits must be from UFV credit offerings. At least 45 credits must be from upper level courses.
This degree program is very flexibile in terms of elective requirements, so as to allow each student to tailor the elective course selection to her/his needs or interests. We strongly encourage students to mix both adult education and elective courses from other areas of UFV throughout their time in completing the degree. The basic structure of program requirements is set out below: |
