UFV Centre for Education and Research on Aging (CERA)
The Centre for Education and Research on Aging (CERA) was launched at UFV in 2006 with the goal of facilitating a collaborative process between educators, researchers, practitioners, students, elders and caregivers in the Fraser Valley to learn more about the issues of the aging process.
The centre promotes gerontological research and educational programs within UFV and the communities in the Fraser Valley. It serves as a source of information about aging for the UFV and broader community.
Mission and Vision
The Mission of CERA is to promote collaboration within UFV and the Fraser Valley community around issues of the ageing process.
Within the UFV community, the Centre brings together educators and researchers from various disciplines to address issues of concern about aging. The Centre plays an important role in linking individuals and groups with similar educational and research interests and needs.
The goals of the Centre are:
* To promote collaboration within the UFV community and among communities in the Fraser Valley region to provide education and research which enhance practice related to aging.
* To promote UFV as a regional resource for gerontological education and research.
* To facilitate the ongoing exchange of information on the aging process among UFV and communities in the region.
