Cheryl Uphill, BA ’97 — has acted in many plays and commercials in Vancouver and the Okanagan Valley. Her most recent credit is on the big screen with Anne Heche playing a dying patient in Toxic Skies. This past year Cheryl gained airtime with two principal roles in commercials for BC Lotto and Microsoft. She is also known for her major role in the 2005 hit TV series Kick Butt, and a minor role in a Jon Voight movie, The Legends of Simon Conjurer. Cheryl has also been involved in an impressive list of independent films. A black belt in karate garnered her stunt-performing roles in various productions.
Elena Miller, Dip ’99 — Following graduation with a Library and Information Technology diploma, Elena worked as library technician for the Chilliwack School District for six years, and made the leap into teaching this past March, after she graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University. Currently, Elena works as a teacher-on-call for the Chilliwack School District. At home Elena enjoys the company of her husband, who is also a teacher, and their three teenage daughters, two of whom attend UFV.
June Hughes, BBA ’01 — graduated from the Aviation program and completed her MBA at Niagara University in 2008. She works at Air Canada and flies A320 aircraft. Currently living in Southern Ontario, June is married and has a toddler, with a second baby born in December.

David Mottram, BA (Crim) ’00 — After graduation, Dave was accepted into the Bachelor of Education program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Dave has been a teacher for the past eight years in both Toronto and London, Ontario. Dave would like to thank the fantastic faculty in the Criminal Justice department and in particular Dr. Martin Silverstein for his guidance while at UFV.
Richard Peachey, BSc ’95 — was UFV’s first science graduate, with a double minor in biology and chemistry. Since 1996, Richard has taught high school science and math for the Abbotsford school district. Currently he is vice president of the Creation Science Association of British Columbia.
Gert Jackman, BBA ’04 — After graduation in 2005 with her Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Gert travelled to Japan for a month. When she got back home she went to work as an administrative assistant for Russ Bailie at Re/Max Realty in Chilliwack, where she continues to work today, with two more trips to Japan on her passport since then.
Linda Orchard (née Bourhill), Dip ’04 — with a General Studies diploma in hand, Linda got married and, along with her three children, emigrated to the United States to live with her new husband. She has since had another child and is now a director for a non-profit state-licensed childcare centre.
Linda continues to study for her degree in early childhood education and elementary education. Her husband is overseas on active duty with the U.S. Military. Linda tries to visit home every summer and when she does she always stops at the UF V bookstore to buy some souvenirs. She loves UFV! | Laura Cameron

Laura Cameron, BA ’05 — has been working for the past three years as the program coordinator for Mission Adopt-A-Block, a non-profit society that administers a litter control program in Mission. She started her master’s degree in environmental education and communication at Royal Roads University in Victoria this summer. Laura is happy to announce her recent engagement to Jason Delisle. The happy couple’s “green” wedding is set for August 28, 2010.
Devon Allen, BA ’06 — Since graduating from UFV, Devon has completed his teaching credential at UBC and is teaching secondary school in Langley. In his spare time Devon does photography and has exhibited in Vancouver galleries.
Fiona Howarth, BA ’06 — Since graduating with a degree in history, Fiona has been exhibiting her photography in galleries in Vancouver while continuing her schooling in the UFV Nursing program. She will graduate from UFV a second time in 2011.

Tia Noble, BA ’08 — has continued her academic journey and is entering her second year at Trinity Western University. She is immersed in the counselling psychology graduate program and loves it! she is eager to enter into the social services field and begin helping those struggling in various areas of their lives.
Daleth Hildebrand, BCIS ’08 — is excited to announce the formation of a new web services company called Vireo Web studios with several partners: www.vireowebstudios.com
Michael Leduc, Cert Professional Cook ’09 — After graduation, Michael worked at the Merritt Mountain Music Festival for Chef David Bensmiller, owner of Over the Top Catering. Michael is now employed at the White spot in the Ramada Plaza of Abbotsford. Michael plans to continue in his chef’s career and obtain his Red Seal certification.
