Want to get more involved in your community, expand your network, and make a difference?
According to UFV Foundation board vice chair Tony Quo Vadis, alumni can greatly benefit from volunteering their time at UFV.

“When I initially approached Barry Marsden (president of Conair) for ideas of how I could get more involved in the Fraser Valley, he suggested joining UFV’s Foundation Board,” says Tony. “I have been a board member for four years now and I cannot think of a better means of using my professional skill set to give back to the community in which I work. It has also
offered me the opportunity to get a bird’s eye view on how an institution like UFV transitions and grows over time.”

To UFV’s advantage, Tony is more than familiar with transitions in the world of business. As executive vice president & CFO of Conair Group, a subsidiary of Cascade Aerospace, Tony
has played a key role in helping Conair and Cascade through challenging transitions by participating in strategic planning for both organizations and building a strong team of professionals.

“I think my experience is a great fit for UFV’s Foundation Board as we transition from an administrative/policy-based board to one that oversees stewardship and fundraising,” says Tony. “UFV has undergone so many transitions over the past couple of years and I’m looking
forward to the opportunities these changes will bring. Now the time has come for UFV as a charitable organization to raise our profile in the community.”

Once Tony wraps up his role on the Foundation’s audit, finance, and investment committee, he hopes to use his expertise to oversee UFV’s non-cash endowments, including land, where he foresees a possible need for financial and real estate knowledge.

“I’m particularly looking forward to UFV’s new Chilliwack campus at the Canada Education Park. I think it’s going to offer staff and students alike a broader range of choices and alternatives as they carve out their careers.”

Prior to joining Conair Group in 2001, Tony spent time in senior financial roles with Finning International and the Jim Pattison Group. Tony began his career in the accounting profession
in 1980, transitioning after a decade into financial management. Tony is a member
of the Board and Executive of the British Columbia Aviation Council. He is both a
CA and a CGA.
