Get your Heavy Mechanical Trades Red Seal
Heavy Mechanical is a nationally designated trade under the Inter-provincial Red Seal program. Earning your Heavy Mechanical Red Seal Endorsement marks you as skilled worker and can open job opportunities.
The Apprenticeship program consists of four levels of in-school training which are, ten weeks for Level 1, eight weeks for Level 2, six weeks for Level 3, and four weeks for Level 4. UFV will be offering all 4 Levels. Dates to be announced.
Classes are scheduled in the day time and include both theory and practice.
Entrance requirements are that students need to have a sponsor to oversee their work, and they must be registered with the Industry Training Authority.
If you are not currently working as a heavy mechanical trades person, you may consider enrolling first in UFV's Heavy Mechanical Trades Foundation program to gain the entry-level skills needed to secure employment. As a graduate of the program, you will get advanced apprenticeship placement when you find an employer to sponsor you.
