English as a Second Language (ESL)
The English as a Second Language (ESL) department offers full-time and part-time studies in Academic Preperation for both domestic and international students. Through our programs, students learn English as well as the academic skills to successfully transition from ESL courses into university-level academic or vocational studies. We provide a multi-media computer lab to support your learning and faculty staffed ESL Help Centre to support your learning. Assistance is also provided by trained ESL peer tutors through UFV's Academic Success Centre.
If you need to upgrade your English to get ahead in your profession or pursue university studies, UFV’s English as a Second Language program options are designed for you. Click here to apply to take ESL courses at UFV. Click here for the Adult Upgrading Grant to seek funding for your studies.
If you are a full-time international student, you may take English upgrading courses ranging from intermediate to university bridge levels.
