A 9 credit interdisciplinary course designed for first year arts students. ARTS 100 meets the writing and reasoning requirements for the Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Why should you take ARTS 100?

  • It's a great introduction to university!  ARTS 100 will give you the inside track on the skills and resources you'll need to make the most of your university experience.
  • It's interesting!  Study two subjects in depth and be introduced to several more.  For this first offering in September 2012, the main focus will be Anthropology and Literature.  The theme will be "Home and Homelands".  Plus, guest speakers from departments across the university will introduce you to their areas of study.
  • It's useful!  Gain experience and confidence in various learning environments: lectures, seminars and small tutorials.  You'll also have the opportunity to do some on-line learning
  • It's fun!  Take part in exciting activities, such as field trips around the Lower Mainland to explore communities, landscapes, neighbourhoods, galleries and museums, as well as film screenings and guest speakers.
