University of the Fraser Valley
& Douglas College partner program:
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
After six years of a successful Bachelor's degree partnership program in psychology with Douglas College the program admitted its final intake of students for Fall 2011.
Students admitted in fall may graduate in 2012 with a UFV degree with courses offered at Douglas College. After April 2012, the degree may be completed with courses at the UFV campuses.
Transfer credit process
UFV requires official transcripts for all previous courses taken at Douglas College as well as any other post-secondary institutions you have attended or are planning to attend. These transcripts are needed to ensure you meet admission requirements to UFV, and to verify your eligibility to graduate once all your coursework is complete.
Other post-secondary transcripts:
If you have already completed, are in the process of completing, or plan to complete courses at any other post-secondary institution, UFV needs to be sent official copies of these transcripts as well. You are responsible for ensuring other institution’s official transcripts are sent to UFV in a timely fashion, whenever or wherever your study takes place.
Once your transfer credit has been assessed, you will be sent an email to your UFV student email account. You can view a summary of your transfer credit at any time through your myUFV account. Log in and make the following selections: Student Information » Student Services » Student Records » Transfer Credit Evaluation.
myUFV — Your online connection to UFV
Once we has received and entered your application for admission, you will have access to myUFV. myUFV is your portal to a variety of information and services at UFV, including course registrations, fee payment, email access, course materials, grades, announcements, and more. Log in at
my.ufv.ca using your 9-digit UFV student ID number (included in the top-right corner of any personal communications sent to you by UFV). The first time you log in, your password will be your date of birth in YYMMDD format; after your first log in, it will be whichever 6-digit code you select.
How and when to register
The UFV courses in which you should register for your fourth year are listed
here
. Make a note of the course reference numbers (CRNs). Please note that you cannot register for these courses through Douglas College — registration for your fourth year courses is through UFV.
Register online through
myUFV anytime after your assigned registration time. You can find your assigned time through myUFV in early May for the Fall semester, and early November for the Winter semester.
There is also a mock course at Douglas College, PSYC 0100, in which you'll need to register for each semester that you're enrolled in UFV classes at Douglas. See
Fees payable to Douglas College, below, for more information.
Can I still take classes at Douglas (or elsewhere) once I'm admitted to UFV?
Once you have been admitted to UFV, please complete a
request for letter of permission (pdf) before enroling in
any courses outside of UFV, whether at Douglas College or any other institution. This will allow us to advise you in advance as to how your courses may transfer to your UFV degree. There is also less chance that these courses will be missed along the way, as we review your candidacy for graduation.
Fees payable to UFV
Only tuition is payable to UFV for your fourth-year courses*. See
current UFV tuition rates. A $200 deposit must be paid no later than 4 pm of the business day after you register. The balance must be paid by the
fee payment deadline for the semester.
A $25 fee is also required when you apply to graduate in your final semester.

*If taking a regular UFV course which is not part of the partner program, you will also be required to pay ancillary fees, the Student Union Society membership fee, the Student Union Society capital fee, the Cascade newspaper fee, thand the radio station fee.

Fees payable to Douglas College
Student Union fees, other student activity fees, and a registration and services fee, are payable to Douglas College for each semester that you are enrolled in UFV courses at Douglas. You will be registered in a mock course at Douglas, Psych 0100, in order to be assessed these fees and to get access to Douglas services, such as the Library. You must register for this course in person or by phone with the Douglas Registrar's Office. Remember to check fee payment deadlines on the
Douglas College website
. Unless you opt out, a medical/dental plan fee will also be assessed by Douglas College.
