Who should consider taking the MDPT?
The MDPT is for students wishing to register for Math 110 or Math 111;
- whose high school education was completed in other countries or provinces and cannot provide transcripts to show transferability to BC Math 12 or its equivalence;
- whose BC Math 12 letter grade is not high enough to satisfy the pre-requisite; or
- who have not taken BC Math 12 but have taken courses which may contain the same content as Math 12.
Where and when is the MDPT offered?
You may write the MDPT at either the Abbotsford or Chilliwack campus.

How much does the MDPT cost?
All Assessment Services placement tests are $10.00. This fee is non-refundable, although you may switch to another sitting at no extra charge if you do so in advance. Payment must be made at any UFV Admissions and Records office before the testing session.
How do I register for the MDPT?
You can register for a placement test by contacting any UFV Registration office in person or by phone at 604-854-4501. When you register, please quote the CRN (Course Registration Number) which corresponds to the time and place of the sitting, as well as your UFV student ID if you have one.

What should I bring with me?
Picture identification is required to write the MDPT; calculators are NOT allowed. Please bring a pencil and arrive 5 minutes early.
What does the MDPT contain?
The MDPT is a closed-book exam made up of multiple choice questions. It covers specific major topics of the standard BC Math 12: algebra, functions, equations and inequalities, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations, and trigonometry.
