Published Research
The BC Centre for Social Responsibility's lead researchers are Dr. Irwin Cohen, Centres' Research Director, and Amanda McCormick, PhD Candidate, and Centres' Research Coordinator. Both are faculty members in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of the Fraser Valley, and focus their research efforts on anti-social behaviours such as alcohol, drugs and gambling addictions.
The BCCSR research team is comprised of UFV employees, UFV undergraduate work study students, in addition to paid and volunteer research assistants. Research students are involved in data collection, database creation, data entry, literature collection, and literature reviews.
The BCCSR has a partner site located in the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University. The Research Director at the SFU site is Dr. Raymond Corrado
Recently Released Research
Working with the Centre for Public Safety and Criminal Justice Research led by Dr. Darryl Plecas, the Centre has recently released several reports related to police activities in British Columbia. The first set of reports results from a police ride along project conducted with the Surrey RCMP and focus on police activities while on duty. The second report involves an analysis of IMPACT data on auto thieves. These reports can be found in the Public Safety link below.
