Applied Business Technology
www.ufv.ca/abt
The Applied Business Technology program prepares students for employment in today’s office by providing them with business and computer skills.
The Applied Business Technology certificate program is offered at the Abbotsford campus and the Career Technical Centre . Some courses are also available online in partnership with other post-secondary institutions in
B.C. (see UCFV Online ).
Employment opportunities
Widespread use of technology has resulted in the office worker assuming more of the higher level skill responsibilities traditionally done by managers and executives, thereby creating a new office “professional”.
Offices in business, government, and industry offer many opportunities for employment. The expansion of office staff, placement of workers in new positions, and the growth of industry in the Fraser Valley result in a continuing demand for well-trained employees.
The Continuing Studies department also offers certificate programs in Applied
Business Technology. These are the Bookkeeping for Small
Business certificate , and the Legal
Administrative Assistant certificate .
• Applied Business
Technology certificate
• Bookkeeping for Small
Business certificate (Continuing Studies)
• Legal
Administrative Assistant certificate (Continuing Studies)
