Cisco Certificate in Networking and Network Security (CCNS)

This program is offered by UFV's CIS department. This offering will be of interest to students wanting to learn how to manage Cisco networking devices, including switches, routers, PIX/ASA firewalls, and wireless networking equipment. It will also be useful for students looking to pursue Cisco certifications. Graduates of this certificate program will possess the skills necessary to administer Cisco based networks, and to write the CCNA certification. You will also have partial preparation towards writing CCNP, Wireless, Security and Voice certification exams. (*1)

Entrance Requirements: 

• The prerequisite to CMNS 125*

* Completion of the prerequisite for entry into CMNS 125. This course is normally taken in the first semester of study in the CIS diploma program. Basic English skills are a requirement for all CIS programs. Students should note that if the Composition Placement Test (CPT) is used to meet the prerequisites, it should be written at least four weeks prior to registering in CMNS 125.
