Cisco Networking Academy at UFV
In Fall 2008, the CIS department will begin to offer the "made at UFV" CCNS Certificate program within the Networking Academy model. All Networking Academy courses in the CCNS will carry full credit into the CIS diploma and BCIS degree. As well, several Networking Academy courses are offereed within the CIS diploma and BCIS degree. Students completing these Networking Academy courses will be well-prepared to write the official certification exams if they wish to. Transfer credit may be granted for students who have taken equivalent courses at other recognized institutions and / or acheived certification. For more information click on the Networking Academy logo. CISCO CCNP, FNS and FWL curriculum is now included in degree-level courses (through the CCNS program). The CIS department at UFV has been a regional CISCO Networking Academy since 1999.
Oracle Academic Initiative  Under the Oracle Academic Initiative, the CIS department includes official Oracle University curriculum in courses CIS 230 (Oracle SQL) and CIS 430 (Oracle database administration). This curriculum is designed to prepare students for official Oracle certifications OCA and OCP. We currently teach Oracle9i. Click on the OAI logo for more information. Microsoft Developers Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) The CIS department is a member of the MSDNAA (Microsoft Developers Network Academic Alliance). Under this agreement, the CIS department pays Microsoft an annual fee, and certain Microsoft software products become available for CIS labs, faculty and students.
