CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) v5.0

There are 4 different CCNP certification exams required to become certified as a CCNP.  Many students choose to pursue partial certification.  Completing the routing (BSI) and switching (BMSN) is the most common partial combination.  After completing the CCNS program students are well prepared for these CCNP routing and switching exams.  Being certified in routing and switching at the CCNP level is a very valuable level to have reached. The CCNS program prepares students for the CCNP1 and CCNP3 exams.  See table below.

NS1 and NS2 (Network Security) v2.0

Upon completion of CIS 321 (Fundamentals of Network Security), students will have aquired the majority of the knowledge and skill in preparation for taking either the Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches certification exam or the Securing Networks with PIX and ASA certification exam.  After completing CIS 321, additional study is recommended in preparation for these certification exams.  CIS 321 contains the objectives from NS1 and some of the objectives from NS2.  See table below.

Other related certifications that students might consider are Cisco VPN Specialist and Cisco Firewall Specialist.

FWL (Fundamentals of Wireless LANs) v1.2

Upon completion of the CCNS program (CIS 224 Fundamentals of Wireless LANs), students will be partially prepared to write the AWLANFE (Advanced Wireless LAN Field Specialist) certification exam(s).  See table below.

IP Telephony / VoIP

Upon completion of the CCNS program, students will be partially prepared for the Cisco Voice over IP exam.
