Industry / Employers are saying:
At Telus we are always looking for knowledgeable people to work with our customer base. Networking and network security in business systems is no longer just plug and play or "figure it out as you go". Thoughtful planning and expertise is required. The new CCNS program looks to be focused on the needs of Industry, covering core networking requirements as well as voice, wireless and security. An excellent balance. In my role as a member of the UFV CIS program advisory committee, I am delighted to have been able to provide input toward the development of this new CCNS program. It is very encouraging to see the University taking on the challenges of providing this type of valuable "real world" education. At IOSecure it has always been a challenge to recruit qualified employees in the areas of network security, wireless and voice, along with the very important communications skills that are required, so we will very much be looking forward to the opportunity of interviewing the programs grads. The employment opportunities in this area are well paying, so I anticipate UFV will begin to see keen interest by students pursuing careers in this area. I only wish there were already some available grads as I have at least 2 openings that I need to fill now! Tom Jacoby Managing Partner, IOSecure Internet Operations Coquitlam, BC. Canada CCIE #1967
