Agriculture and Horticulture programs Garden Design Fundamentals
Do you dream of having a garden that is colourful, attractive, and enjoyable, just to be in? Is your own garden falling short of these expectations? Change is not difficult – just follow the basic principles of landscape design. Through creative use of plants and hardscape materials, you can create an easy-care garden that you can be proud of. This is a practical design course and includes lectures, slides, hands-on materials, and in-class work time. Some homework is required.

Keeping Your Flock Healthy - The basics of flock health for poultry owners
This course is intended for owners of small flocks who wish to learn more about diseases in poultry, including its spread and prevention. Content will include the recognition of common diseases, methods that can be taken to prevent their entry into the flock, and actions that can be followed if they appear. There is no course fee but
enrollment is limited.

Pruning Workshop
This six-hour hands-on workshop will cover basic pruning techniques applicable to a wide variety of plant material. Participants will work on different trees, ornamental shrubs, and a fruit tree. Dress for the weather and bring your own pruners such as secateurs or loppers.

Equine Production and Management
This course covers feeding, breeding, and management for horse owners. Topics include equine medical disorders, lameness, nutrition, facilities, reproduction management of both the mare and stallion, and equipment. Discussion of the different equine sectors and field trips will be included.

Introduction to Equestrian Coaching and Instruction
Prerequisite: Equine Canada learn to ride program Rider 4
This course will help you prepare for the Equine Canada Instructor/Coach Evaluation. The EC English Rider 4 (or equivalent) is a prerequisite. Topics include the theory of coaching, discussion and lesson plan development using 20 common teaching subjects, and how to prepare for an Equine Canada exam.
