University College of the Fraser Valley fourth-year nursing students will once again be honing their community education skills at the Cottonwood Mall in Chilliwack on Friday, November 16, when they host a free health fair.

Students are working on displays on topics such as fitness for women, osteoporosis, drinking and driving, child safety, "heart smart" advice, sexually transmitted diseases, smoking, diabetes, arthritis, and earthquake preparation.

The fair is free, it runs from 12 through 6 pm in the area of the mall near London Drugs, and the students will be available to answer questions.

"The students choose their own topics and it's a great opportunity for them to learn more about teaching health promotion," says instructor Sheila Edwards.
