Merilus Technologies donates software to UCFV
Merilus
Technologies recently donated software and licensing valued at approximately
$6,500 to the University College of the Fraser Valley Computer Information
Stystems department. The Chilliwack- based high tech computer company boasts a
number of UCFV alumni on its payroll.
When company founder Dana Epp learned that UCFV was using some older Merilus products as part of its CIS 340 class, he decided the students needed access to a better product. Both Epp and his partner Kevin Traas have taught at UCFV and they say they're pleased to be able to help CIS students have access to the latest technology.

Merilus focuses on solutions for securely connecting corporate computer networks to the Internet provided through the firm's Gateway Guardian line of software.
"I value hugely the contribution educational institutions such as UCFV provide to students and the access the school provides to new technology," said Epp. "By doing so it enhances the students' individual opportunities and experiences that are valuable when they leave to build their careers. Merilus can attribute most of our success to our people's vision and imagination.
"This has been very successful based on the strong foundation the students have when they have graduated from UCFV and come to Merilus."
