Wood form sculpture on display at UCFV Gallery
UCFV alumnus and artist Peter Algra will display a selection of his unique sculptural artwork at the UCFV Gallery September 4-16.
Algra, who graduated from the UCFV Drafting program in 1992, went on to complete a Master of Fine Arts degree from Cornell University two years ago.
As well as his pursuing his art as a sculptor, Algra is a partner with his brother Phil in Algra Woodworks, a custom furniture business in Abbotsford. Their shop also provides a space called the "Odd Spot Gallery" for artists to display their work.
Algra's show at the UCFV Gallery includes a number of highly original wood form pieces.
"The show currently on display at the university was inspired by my son and deals with issues surrounding ideological/religious education," says Algra.
Peter Algra's exhibition of wood form sculptures can be viewed at the UCFV Gallery in room B138 on the Abbotsford campus, open weekdays from now until Sept. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
