The UCFV men's and women's soccer teams will get one last chance to fine tune their line-ups before the start of the regular season, at this weekend's 16th Annual Preseason Men's and Women's Soccer Tournament.

An impressive draw of top college teams includes Medicine Hat College (MHC) from Alberta, Skagit Valley College from Washington State (men only), as well as perennial BCCAA contenders Okanagan University College (OUC), University College of the Cariboo (UCC), and Capilano College (women only).

The action starts on Saturday, Aug. 30, and continues Sunday, Aug. 31, at Bateman Park in Abbotsford. Admission to all the abbreviated round-robin games is free.

Regular season play kicks off Saturday, Sept. 6, and Sunday, Sept. 7, with both UCFV teams hosting OUC at Bateman Park.

Later this season, the UCFV Cascades will co-host the 2003 Canadian College National Championships, Nov. 5-8, in Coquitlam. As UCFV is the host institution on the women's side, the Cascades women's team is guaranteed entry into the championships.
