At Münster University, the selection process for the first exchange term has now been completed. As the high number of applications has shown, the DSC’s aims and objectives managed to attract the interest of many students involved in diaspora studies and related areas. The six students chosen to spend a term at one of the two Canadian universities in January 2011 are enrolled in a variety of programmes, such as the Master of Arts in National and Transnational Studies or the Master of Arts in British, American and Postcolonial Studies. All of them have already come into contact with the concept of diaspora, either through their studies or their extra-curricular activities. Therefore they are highly motivated to do further research in this area and to experience diaspora in a completely different national and cultural context.
