UFV believes that student success begins with student engagement and is committed to fostering an environment in which student engagement is a top priority.

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The NSSE measures key indicators of student engagement by surveying student population. Benchmarks include

• Level of Academic Challenge
• Active and Collaborative Learning
• Student-Faculty Interaction
• Enriching Educational Experiences
• Supportive Campus Environment

Institutions use this data to improve overall student experience. UFV participated in the NSSE survey for the first time in 2010.
