The Louden Singletree
UFV’s student-run literary magazine
Welcome to the
Louden Singletree, UFV’s literary magazine. Created in 2008, the
Louden Singletree is a student-based initiative, run each year by a small student editorial board with the support and guidance of the English Department. The
Louden Singletree, open to submissions from UFV students, faculty, staff and alumni, is a showcase for the best creative writing the UFV community has to offer.
The
Louden Singletree solicits works with unique insight. It looks for original perspectives and evocative language. Poetry, short-stories, flash-fiction, creative non-fiction as well as visual art are accepted by the magazine, which embraces a wide-variety of genres and styles while maintaining a high standard of excellence.
The
Louden Singletree is a non-profit journal, funded by the Student Union Society, the English Department and, in 2010/11, the Cascade Journalism Society. The magazine seeks to reach out into the wider Fraser Valley community, and encourage the local development of the arts. In this respect, the
Louden Singletree has been a tool to continue the literary dialogue at UFV and at large.
Copies of the most recent issue of the
Louden Singletree can be obtained in the library on the Abbotsford campus, at no cost. Or, check out our latest edition online!
