UFV's writer-in-residence for the winter 2012 semester is Anosh Irani. Anosh will visit creative writing classes, meet one-on-one with student writers, as well as host UFV and community literary events. He is keen to get involved on campus and to meet and work with aspiring writers.
Writing Consultations for Aspiring Writers
Anosh is available to meet with students on Mondays and Thursdays until April 16, 2012
from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Anosh Irani
|
Anosh Irani was born and brought up in Bombay, India and moved to Vancouver in 1998. He is the author of the acclaimed novels The Cripple and His Talismans and The Song of Kahunsha , which was a finalist for CBC Radio's Canada Reads and the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize, was published in thirteen countries, and was a bestseller in Canada and Italy. His play Bombay Black was a Dora Award winner for Outstanding New Play. Irani was nominated for the Governor General’s Award for Drama for his anthology The Bombay Plays : The Matka King & Bombay Black . Anosh is also a successful playwright, and three of his plays have been produced by the Vancouver Arts Club.
Anosh has just returned from India where he is working on a film from Mumbai about the plight of small farmers caught in India's hideous, inescapable debt crisis. Anosh is interested in the relationship between writers and social justice.
