Lab Computers: How to Log In and Shut Down

If the computer is off, press the Power Button.

1. Type in your student number for Username. 2. Type in your birthdate for Password in the format YYMMDD: for example, 860301  (1986 March 1) If you have changed your password, type in your new password. 3. Click on OK. If you have forgotten your new password, click here. Your instructor and the ESL educational technologist may provide you with a temporay username and password.
Wait for a while if there is no menu on top of "Programs" when you click on "Start".

1-A. Double click on z Logoff or z Shutdown logo on your screen. 1-B. Click on the hand icons in the task bar.
2-A. Click on Start at the bottom left of your screen. 2-B. Click on Shut Down.
3. Check if Shut Down is chosen. If  Logoff or Restart is chosen, read the next section. 4. Click on OK.
A) If  Logoff or Restart is chosen, click on the little arrow. B) Click on Shut Down. C) Click on OK.

1. If  Shut down or Restart is chosen, click on the little arrow.  ==> If  Log off is already chosen, click on OK. 2. Click on Log off. 3. Click on OK.
After you log off, you can still shut down the computer. A) Click on Shut Down. B) Check if  Shut Down is chosen. C) Click on OK.
