Komagata Maru Centennial Museum Exhibition Launch

The year 2014 is the Centennial year of the Komagata Maru tragedy of 1914. To commemorate this tragic event encapsulating discriminatory government policies of the time, the Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies at UFV has curated an exhibition at the Sikh Heritage Museum titled: "Challenge and Denial – Komagata Maru 100 years later 1914-2014."
All community members are invited to attend this free event which will feature a speech from a descendant of one of the members of the shore committee as well as a reading from "Chanting Denied Shores" from author Tariq Malik.
Refreshments will follow.
