Introduction

Using information gained around non-repayable sources of funding for education, you will develop a plan to maximize the amount of money you can access prior to going into financial debt. It is assumed that you have chosen a career, worked out a budget for the length of your program, and have identified all existing and continuing income sources.

Learning Outcomes

Using information researched around scholarships, bursaries, awards and other non-repayable funding for education, you will develop a plan for identifying and applying for non-repayable ways of financing their education.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this module you will be able to:

  • Distinguish between scholarship, award, and bursaries.
  • List general sources of scholarship, bursaries and grants.
  • Make a personal list of scholarships, awards and bursaries that may apply.
  • Identify other possible non-repayable sources of funding available.
  • Indicate how these sources of funding will work with the budget created.
  • Outline the funds still needed every year, for the length of the selected educational program.
  • Obtain and properly complete applications for scholarships, bursaries and awards.
