Justine Cullen continues her stellar performance in the Geography Honours program by winning one of only two Farouk El-Baz Awards handed out by the Geological Society of America every year. Justine is the first undergraduate student, and the first Canadian, to ever win this award. Congratulations Justine.
With Justine is Dr. Stephen Wolfe from the Geological Survey of Canada, which helped fund much of Justine`s research.
The Award was presented on behalf of Professor El-Baz to Justine by Dr. Mostafa Abubakr from Boston University.
Student success and instructor involvement are always two sides of the same coin, and especially at UFV. Olav Lian and Justine Cullen at the GSA Annual Meeting.
Left to right, Justine, California State University`s Dr. John Wakabayashi, and Stefan Knopp, a PhD student from Germany at the University of Calgary and the other winner of this award.
