1) Research Projects
a) Little Campbell River, Surrey and White Rock
This project, in collaboration with Little Campbell Watershed Society and the Friends of Semiahmoo Bay, involves the long term monitoring of water quality parameters along three tributaries of the Little Campbell River.
b) Abbotsford-Sumas Aquifer Nitrate Study, Abbotsford
This project is an ongoing attempt to monitor nitrate and bacteria levels in the main lower Fraser Valley aquifer by sampling private wells. The study is carried out in collaboration with Claire Beaney, several UFV Geography Students, the British Columbia Ministry of the Environment, Environment Canada, and the Fraser Health Authority.
c) Abbotsford Ditch Project, Abbotsford
In this collaborative effort with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, I am mapping and classifying roadside watercourses in order to correct and upgrade existing hydrological maps.
d) Silverdale Creek Wetlands, Mission
In collaboration with Claire Beaney, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the City of Mission, UCFV Deparments of Geography and Biology, and other local groups, this study maps the hydrology of Silverdale Creek within an area designated for restoration and preservation.
