Geography Major BA requirements
Note: This section lists the requirements for the basic Major BA only. Links to the Concentrations and Honours options in the Major BA are at the bottom of this section. Requirements for the Minor and Extended Minor, and the link to the Extended Studies Option, follow.
Lower-level requirements: 26 credits
- Geography 101
- Geography 102
- Geography 140
- Geography 201 or 202
- Geography 241 or 242
- Geography 250 or 253
- Geography 252
Note: One of Math 104, Math 106 or Psyc 110 is required for geog 252; students should plan accordingly.
Upper-level requirements: 31-33 credits; 45 credits required for BA credential

One course in physical geography (GEOG 302, 303, 304, 307, 308, 315, 317, 402, 410, 417)

One course in human geography (GEOG 311, 312, 341, 343, 344, 345, 346, 354, 360, 362, 411, 443, 444, 445, 447, 460)

Any four 300/400 level Geography courses
Note: No more than eight credits of the required 31-33 credits may be in Directed Readings/Directed Studies courses (Geog 480, 482, 483 or 484).

Geography Extended Minor BA requirements
Lower-level requirements: 21–23 credits
- Geography 101
- Geography 102
- Geography 140
- Geography 251 or 253
- Any two other 200-level geography courses.
Upper-level requirements: 16 credits
Note: No more than eight credits of the required 16 credits may be in Directed Readings/Directed Studies courses (Geog 480, 482, 483 or 484).
Geography Minor BA requirements
Lower-level requirements: 13–15 credits
- One of Geography 101 or 102
- Geography 140
- Any two 200-level geography courses.
Upper-level requirements: 16 credits
Note: No more than four credits of the required 16 credits may be in Directed Readings/Directed Studies courses (Geog 480, 482, 483 or 484).
