Hugh Brody
Hugh Brody holds the Canada Research Chair in Aboriginal Studies at UFV. An internationally recognized scholar, anthropologist, land claims researcher, policy adviser, filmmaker, and writer, Brody is drawing together threads of research and experience from a diversity of cultures in order to push land claims and rights research in new directions. His work in Aboriginal communities is helping to teach a new generation to do research for themselves and their communities — teaching them to tell their own stories and to discover for themselves what is important and necessary to create sustainable communities. He has authored nine books, published 16 essays and produced six documentary films.

Dr. Ken Brealey
Dr. Brealey joined UFV in the fall of 2002 and is currently head of the Geography Department at the university. His research interests focus on Aboriginal geographies, and the history and practice of cartography as it relates to contemporary Aboriginal land claims and in postcolonial studies. Dr. Brealey's applied work revolves around historico-geographcal and cartographic research for B.C. First Nations on land claims cases.  Current work includes the cartographic rendition of Snuynemuxw (Nanaimo) specific claims over disallowed Douglas Treaty village sites, and land use and occupancy and documentary historical cartography and specific claims for the Nlakapamux Nation Tribal Council.
