Study Schools

In addition to regular in-class field trips, the department operates two types of study schools that really get at the field experience.

Study tours
are trips of two to three weeks, average 16 students and typically run to favourite regional destinations. Most are led by geographers, but also faculty from other departments. As a result, students can enrol in anywhere from 9 to 16 credits depending on who is leading the tour and the component courses deemed eligible.  These are hot tours so when one comes up, go for it!

Adventures in Geography
take the same number of students, but for only four to five days duration, to more local destinations.  They are worth five credits and usually run just prior to the start of the Fall semester.  These are in-demand too!
